Influence of Nickel Modified Beta Zeolite in the Production of BTEX During Analytical Pyrolysis of Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF)

Production of high added value chemicals such as BTEX by means catalytic fast pyrolysis MDF residues is a promising and environmentally friendly alternative to fossil fuels, abundantly produced worldwide. Generation toxic compounds during pyrolyses was minimized with pre-treatments yeasts or hot water resulting in maximum removal 87.9% nitrogen when used at 80 °C, for 3 h. Nickel-modified beta zeolites (Ni3B-H) 5 wt% nickel (Ni5B-H) were more efficient the production (Ni3B-H: 39.35% Ni5B-H: 38.65%) reduction polyaromatic hydrocarbons 11.12% 15.93%) compared pure zeolite. Non-catalytic resulted only oxygenated compounds. These findings related changes crystallographic sites aluminum then on acidic sites, well bifunctional catalyst reactions.
